Welcome to St. Peter's United Church of Christ!
It is significant that we carry this name for our church. Peter was a leader among the apostles, the one to make the confession of Jesus as the Christ, the Son of the Living God, and the one given the keys of the kingdom. At St. Peter's Church, we seek to follow Jesus in all that we do, both as individuals and as a congregation. As the Historic Church in the Village of Frankfort, we seek to create a dynamic future from our faithful past. We offer classical worship with a timeless message of our eternal Savior.
Our focus as a congregation is on the worship of God, celebrating the divine presence in our midst. Our music ministry is an important part of our worship service. We enjoy the classical sound of our pipe organ and the beautiful reflections of our stained glass windows. We offer adult and youth vocal choirs and handbell choirs. We delight in singing God our praise!
Spiritual growth is also an important part of our life together. We support an active Christian Education program on Sunday mornings with classes for all ages and interests and an ongoing program of Spiritual Formation for adults through a series of Bible studies, regularly scheduled Saturday morning workshops, and special events throughout the year. We echo Paul's confession, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:14)
As a congregation, we are also active in a wide variety of mission opportunities. We support a list of local, national and global programs. Instead of worrying about all that is wrong in our world, we do what we can to make this world a better place!
